Exploring Andalucia with the Nomads

Nature Jun 09, 2021

Some time ago, during the onset of the Covid crisis in 2020, I decided to form a small local walking group. The objective was simple. With an organised series of weekly walks I would be forced to get out and do a major hike each week. This would improve my health and fitness accordingly and, with partial lock downs in mind, would keep me in touch with human beings outside of supermarkets! I named the group "Alpujarra Nomads".

Although I kicked this off in the autumn of 2020 it wasn't until 2021 that the group got really established and we started having a regular amount of members. The Group's "MeWe" Social Page states the following

A small, private & friendly, hiking community exploring trails in the Alpujarras, Sierra Nevada and Andalucia

  • small & friendly local walking/scrambling group
  • find new walking companions
  • create your own hiking event!
  • car and petrol sharing
  • dogs welcome (travel in owners car)

Why MeWe? Why not! Anything to dissipate the dominance of Facebook and MeWe is quite a good platform for small groups
